It was very, very late in the day when my 87-year-old mother realised that she had locked herself out of the house. I was desperate to have keys cut for her straight away. When I phoned the branch as being the closest location, it was 2 miles from me and 3 minutes to closing time. In short, there was no way that I could get there before 6 pm but once I explained my predicament to Nathan, he pulled out all the stops, to help. I discovered that he had no transport of his own and relied upon a bus to get home, which he was prepared to forgo so that my situation would be resolved. Not only did he complete the work after hours but it was right first time, something which is notoriously difficult without some ”fettling” once  the customer has taken the keys away to try them.\\r\\n\\r\\nI would like to commend him for his skill, compassion, and judgement. I mentioned the latter particularly because in the natural way of wishing to repay his thoughtfulness, I offered to drive him home as he had missed his bus to help. On reflection that makes me shiver when I realise that was effectively asking him to get into a car with a stranger.. His people skills were such that he was able to make an insightful decision as to my genuine, sincere intention to pay him back for his kindness and passed the time driving him home very affably. He was an absolute credit to a younger generation interacting with and tailoring his responses to an older one as well as to the Timpson company.\\r\\n\\r\\nDuring our chat he talked about his thoughts on continuing his academic journey.
